Crisis Accommodation

The Albany Women’s Centre offers women, with or without children, affected by family and domestic violence a safe refuge and support services.

Services include:

  • 24 hour on call service
  • Safe, secure crisis accommodation
  • Case management support
  • Outreach services
  • Support Groups
  • Advocacy
  • Community Education

The Centre provides safe, secure accommodation, support, advocacy, referrals, transport if necessary, collection of belongings. Linen, bedding, cooking and washing facilities. Help in getting legal advice, housing, access to an income, storage information, access to State and Commonwealth entitlements, community resources.

Eligibility: Single women and women with children who are living with or leaving family and domestic violence, males who are up to 15 years old. No referral required.

Crisis Accomodation

Shelter based crisis accommodation from 4:00pm-8:00am every day from May through October.

Eligibility:

  • Male 18 years and over
  • Homeless, or at risk of homeless or in crisis
  •  Involved in with, or willing to accept referral to, a case management service
  • Actively involved in addressing their housing difficulties

Young House Albany

Crisis Accomodation

Young House provides supported crisis accommodation for young people aged 15 to 25 years (with priority given to those under 20 years of age) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Young House operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Services Available include:

  • Youth workers
  • Education of independent living skills
  • Connect with education and employment oppurtunities
  • Move towards a return home (where possible) or independent living

Referrals are accepted from agencies and individuals at short notice.

Albany Youth Support Association

Supported Housing Outreach and Tenancy

The Supported Housing Outreach and Tenancy (SHOT) program is for young people from 15 to 25 years of age who need housing support. Our staff provide outreach to those living in AYSA’s six transitional houses, provided through the Great Southern Community Housing Association. Young people can stay in these houses for up to two years (we encourage them to find private tenancies where possible).
