Outreach Service

Albany Youth Outreach provides early intervention and support to at-risk young people commencing secondary education, up to 18 years of age. With referrals accepted from partner agencies and individuals, the program provides:

  • Mentoring to enhance relationships with families and others
  • Referrals and support to access appropriate services
  • Support to establish connections to activities and the community
  • Advocacy and information
  • Support to actively and positively participate in Open Access arts activities

Priority is given to those with high support needs who are likely to have experienced multiple risks. The free and strictly confidential program is designed to prevent crises occurring in these young people’s lives.

Education Program

Reconnect is a free early intervention program for young people aged 12 to 18 years helps to build bridges and foster new ties between young people and their families. It also strengthens their connections with the community, and improves their engagement with work, education and training.

Through Reconnect, their outreach youth workers provide mentoring, advocacy, case management, family mediation, leadership and confidence activities, camps, and referrals to specialist services such as family counselling. Young people aged 12 to 18 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and their families.

Supported Housing Outreach Program

The Supported Housing Outreach and Tenancy (SHOT) program is for young people from 15 to 25 years of age who need housing support. Our staff provide outreach to those living in AYSA’s six transitional houses, provided through the Great Southern Community Housing Association. Young people can stay in these houses for up to two years (we encourage them to find private tenancies where possible).

Anglicare WA

Child Sexual Abuse Therapy Service

The Child Sexual Abuse Therapy Service aims to reduce the harmful effects of sexual abuse on children and their future. The service assists children to manage trauma and educates them about social skills and strategies that enable them to be safe and establish non-abusive relationships. It also teaches parents to recognise the symptoms and effects of sexual abuse against children and how to provide support for their child’s healing.

AVAILABLE TO:

  • Children up to the age of 18 who have suffered sexual abuse
  • Children up to the age of 18 who are exhibiting sexualised behaviours
  • Children up to the age of 18 who have committed sexual abuse against others
  • Non-offending siblings and carers who have been affected by the sexual abuse or behaviour of a child who has been referred to the service

Youth Mental Health Service

Youth Focus deliver frontline services and education programs not only to reduce symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, but also to build long-term mental wellbeing and help young people reach their full potential.
