The Family Violence and Prevention Service is a free community service. It provides confidential support and counselling to people struggling with personal, emotional and family issues, as a result of family violence, through a non-threatening, non- judgmental and informal approach.

Life skills program: This program teaches life skills such as budgeting and healthy cooking menu planning and shopping.

HOURS:

Women's Health and Midwife Clinic

The Women’s Health and Midwife clinic is a safe, supportive and confidential space for women to discuss any concerns or find out more information about their health. They can receive health screening and advice on a range of women’s health issues as well as evidence-based, continuity of care throughout pregnancy and after birth.

Clinical and advocacy services are provided by a Registered Nurse, who specialises in women’s health and can offer:

• Cervical cancer screening (replaces pap smears);
• Contraception and and menstrual issues advice;
• Fertility counselling;
• Breast examinations;
• Sexually transmitted

Pilbara Family and Domestic Violence Corrdinated Response Service

Support Service

Pilbara Family & Domestic Violence Coordinated Response Service (CRS) assists victims of family and domestic violence who have had police attend an incident of family violence, which has resulted in a domestic violence incident report (DVIR). The CRS works alongside Western Australian Police, Child Protection and Family Support, and Department of Corrective Services, offering support to people at high risk of violence to build their safety, away from further abuse. CRS is delivered in the Pilbara and Geraldton in conjunction with numerous other lead agencies within the family and domestic violence service system.

1800RESPECT is a national sexual assualt and domestic violence counselling service. 1800RESPECT provide support and counselling for:

  • People experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, sexual assault, domestic or family violence
  • Their friends and family
  • Workers and professionals supporting someone experiencing, or at risk of experiencing sexual assault, domestic or family violence.

The Women’s Domestic Violence Helpline is a state wide 24 hour service. This service provides support and counselling for women experiencing family and domestic violence. This includes:

Crisis Care is a telephone information and counselling service for people in crisis needing urgent help.
